TALLA: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
-TWO SIZES TO CHOOSE FROM: Starter Grit for ages 0-8 weeks. Layer & Grower for ages 8+ weeks
-REQUIRED AS CHICKENS DO NOT HAVE TEETH: With grit, chickens can "chew" & breakdown feed so their body can absorb the nutrients they need to be healthy & produce larger eggs more consistently
-PERFECT FOR LAYERS & GROWERS: Keep your layers & growers as healthy as possible with grit available
-CHICKENS WILL EAT AS NEEDED: Your chickens will eat grit when needed, making it easy to set out in a separate container to their feed
-1 CHICKEN = 1 lb. PER MONTH: Laying chickens eat grit as needed (similar to oyster shell) & will not overeat. Quantity varies by breed & weather; 1 lb. each month per laying chicken is average
"Chickens of all ages need grit to help them digestion their food. Wild chickens eat small bits of stone when they forage, so backyard chickens need the same! As chickens do not have teeth, they need grit (basically little rocks) to help break down and digest their feed. Grit goes right into a chicken's gizzard and without it, food won't break down and your chicken can become sick. Even if your flock is free range and finding grit in the yard, we recommend supplementing their feed with grit to avoid digestive issues that are common without grit. Grit is a best-selling extra for Mile Fourwhich is why we offer two types: starter & layer/grower. Your chickens will intuitively eat the appropriate size with their feed. It is recommended to not feed newborn chicks grit until they've got a taste for Mile Four's Starter Feed. This is because they'll need the necessary nutrients we put into the starter feed at an early age before adding supplements to their diet. Offer your chickens a grit free-choice in a separate container. Remember to always provide them with clean, fresh water." B083ZL7RWW
